Sister Malachy Kennedy

Sister Malachy Kennedy was part of the first group of sisters to begin the prison ministry at Lansing Correctional Facility, also known as the Kansas State Penitentiary, in 1968. At the time, she was a part of the Mount St. Scholastica faculty and was assigned to teach basic English and reading to prison guards, helping them prepare for their high school equivalency exams.

Sister Malachy passed away in 1971.
